Introducing our mentors for the 2010 programs

It has been overwhelming to have 56 new mentors volunteer to work with the young people in our programs in 2010. They have now completed their training either on Mondays at Brookvale TAFE or on Tuesdays at Crows Nest TAFE, and they are volunteering in our programs from term 2.  We are running our Ismo program in Mosman High, Mackellar Girls High, North Sydney Boys High, Pittwater High, Riverside Girls High and Ryde Secondary College this year.  Our Bump program is running again in the northern beaches at Dee Why, and in Hornsby.  A group of our mentors are also volunteering with the Youth Connections program at Crows Nest TAFE.  Our new mentors are being joined by 47 returning experienced mentors, so we are on track to match 100 young people with mentors during this year.

Our mentors in the 2009 programs

We were thrilled that 39 new volunteers completed their training, and joined 19 of our experienced volunteers to become mentors for the Young Love Foundation programs in 2009.   We completed our Ismo mentoring program at Pittwater High School, The Forest High School and Cromer High School last year.  We also completed our inaugural Bump program for teenage mums in 2009 in the northern beaches area.  We also had volunteer mentors contributing to the Connections program at Crows Nest TAFE in 2009.

Thank you to our wonderful mentors

It is overwhelming to see how incredibly generous these people are to give of their time and energy to support the young people in our community.  The Young Love Foundation is sincerely grateful to all of our mentors.  Words cannot explain how appreciative we are, because to put it simply, there just is no program without these wonderful people!  Thank you, mentors...
