The Young Love Foundation conducts personal development workshops for teenagers in School or TAFE environments, and as part of our mentoring programs. We also partner with other community mentoring and not-for-profit organisations by conducting training programs for them and their potential mentors or mentees. As well as this, we partner with Trilogie Teens to conduct Parent Coaching training programs.
Personal Development Workshops for Teenagers
Our personal development workshops provide teenagers with the right resources at an early stage so they are prepared for life, and their life chances are greatly enhanced. We use interactive workshops, open discussion, music, technology, and fun activities in a positive learning environment. The content of our workshops is complementary to the DET curriculum guidelines for PDHPE. We provide learning from neutral, skilled, experienced professionals who are passionate about the topics they are teaching. We can come at issues from a range of angles because we are neutral from the perspective of teachers and parents. The students don’t have to see us all the time, so they can use honesty and be courageous.
Mentor Training Programs for Community Partners
Our training programs for community partners can be tailored to suit the specific needs of the organisation or group. Obviously, we specialise in training mentors and conducting core modules around that topic, but we are also flexible and open to conducting other specialist topics of interest to the field of adolescents. We also run regular coaching programs for parents of teenagers. In the past, we have been involved with running a training workshop for YWCA NSW's In School Mentoring Program through Big Brother Big Sister, for example.
Please see our comprehensive list of all the workshops we offer your school or community on the next web page.
