Raise has been successful in tendering with partners, The Salvation Army and TAFE NSW to provide mentoring services within the Youth Connections program being funded through DEEWR by the Federal Government from 2010 for two years.  This program supports at risk young people in the Lower North Sydney area, by supporting them to re-engage with education and employment options.  We are extremely excited about this opportunity to partner with highly respected youth organisations and about being able to connect more young people with professional accredited mentors.  Listed below is an outline of how our mentoring services operate within the Youth Connections program. Photo left -  Captain Paul Moulds from The Salvation Army at The Oasis in Surry Hills.

The students in Youth Connections at Crows Nest TAFE were recently blown away when Wallaby and Waratahs full back, Kurtley Beale, dropped in for a chat with them.  Kurtley shared some amazing stories about his life and his achievements, and instilled a great amount of inspiration and encouragement in the young people in our program.  He is a fabulous role model for our youth, and the students thought he was awesome.  We are very grateful to Kurtley for taking the time out of his busy training schedule to hang with the students.  Thanks also to Rosemary Towner from RUPA for organising the visit.  Go the Wallabies!
